Dear Dr. Hislop,
I have received a letter from Dr. Dale Beyerstein of the Department of Philosophy, University of British Columbia, Vancouver. He has read the account of Resurrection of Waiter Cowan from your book "My Baba and I" and more recently from Erlendur Haraldson's new book, "Modern Miracles: An Investigative Report on Psychic Phenomena associated with Sathya Sai baba" and found several inconsistencies between the two accounts. This is a valid point which needs to be clarified. Since you were present in Madras with Baba when this incident took place, I am sure you can provide a rational explanation for these inconsistencies. I am enclosing a copy of Dr. Beyerstein's letter and a copy of the section of Haraldson's book refering to the subject in question.
I will be grateful if you could send a copy of your letter to me. I will consider it for publication in the next issue of "SOHAM".
The next "SOHAM" Newsletter will be released in July 1988. If you have any announcements and or message to be printed, please send them to me as soon as possible. I am enclosing a few copies of March issue of "SOHAM" for you.
OM SAI RAM
Sincerely Yours,
Subi Evani, M.D., F.R.C.S.(c)
