Much to the discomfiture of the protesters, Martin Scorsese's controversial film, "The Last Temptation of Christ" is breaking box-office records in America. The film opened last week with huge crowds waiting patiently outside theatres. Scorsese and his backers are delighted at the commercial success of the low budget film ($6.5 million) which critics had predicted would bomb at the box-office. Meanwhile, Scorsese is determined to retain the final 40-minute dream sequence in which Jesus is seen having sex.
